A combination of wooden triangles creates a voluminous spherical polyhedron. A single layer of ‘washi’ Japanese paper type fits well in a modern interior space while the alternately double-layered ‘washi’ type presents a subtle shade providing a sense of depth into the space.

Re-interpreting the traditional portable lamp with a handle. Frame and handle are made of ash and two finishes are available: natural ash and dark brown paint.

深夜には外箱を被せることで、満月と三日月型の窓から漏れる光が常夜灯として役立ち情感と機能性を兼ね備えたあかりです。
A lamp faithfully reproduced the traditional lantern of Edo period. Full moon or crescent light through the windows is used as a nightlight when the outer box is placed over, having both functional and emotional aspects.
